D1 airport - Atar - Chinguetti
Our car leads us directly in direction of the master key d’Ebnou, immense
spectacular fault which enables us to join Chinguetti, old caravan city, where
our team of camel drivers awaits us. Visit city in the afternoon. (1h30h of
transport)
D2 and D3 Chinguetti - Zerga
We leave early the morning to join the first dunes with the foot of l’erg
Ouarane. Soon, the oasis of Lagueila accomodates us, time OFpicnic, small
paradise in this sand vastness.
D2 and D3 Chinguetti - Zerga
We carry on then our road between the dunes, at the rate/rhythm of the caravan,
with the solid mass of Zerga in point of test card.
D4 Zerga - Lemmmoïzine
We circumvent the solid mass of Zerga and go up Ouest, towards the plate which
takes shape far. erg Ouarane disappears behind us. Sand leaves little by little
the place with the rock. At the end of the day, we reach the buttresses d’un
high plate in relief. Contrast is seizing: behind us, the chain of Zerga and erg
Ouarane; in front of us, extent of the plate of Lemmoïzine.
D5 and D6 Moïzine - Maïrhet
During these two days, we cross the plate of Moïzine, intersected d’oued where
acacias and sand offer a shelter to us; time OF glass of tea, picnic or bivouac.
This mineral world surrounds us and with the turning of guelb, we can have the
surprise to meet a shepherd supervising his herd of goats.
D5 and D6 Moïzine - Maïrhet
This crossing ends in one magic moment: top of the plate, we see appearing oasis
of Maïrhet and its palm plantation which extend along the valley. We go down in
oued to go to install our bivouac before the last stage of the following day.
D7 Maïrhet - Tergit - Atar
After a few hours of walk, oued narrows and becomes a narrow throat. And
abruptly, downwards, we see the first palm trees of oasis of Tergit, then water
which runs along the rock face and promises a halt to us. In end after-midday,
return to Atar, visits market and last night in inn.
D8 Atar - RETURN
Transfer to the airport of Atar and take-off for original country. This route
will be able to take place in opposite direction.
